Where topics come from

Topics come from
your prompt set.

When a prompt set is generated the model derives six to eight topics from your Brand Hub and the pages your crawl already found, or uses exactly the ones you pick. Each prompt is tagged with one primary topic and up to two secondary ones, and counts under every one of them.

Behind every chip

Every chip carries
its own evidence.

The chips are not labels someone typed. Each comes from a pass over that topic’s answers and carries its reasoning: what the answers actually said about you, and which competitors they name as stronger. Hover a chip, or the score, to read it.

How it works

One matcher, twelve leaderboards.

Nothing here is a model deciding who won. The ranking is string matching; the explanation is the only part a model writes.

Questions

What people ask about the topic view.

Where the topics come from, how the ranking is decided, and what is deterministic.

Where do the topics come from?

From your prompt set. When prompts are generated the model derives six to eight topics that segment your niche, grounded in your Brand Hub and in the page titles your crawl already found, or it uses exactly the topics you picked in the wizard. Prompts you write yourself, one at a time or by CSV, take a topic from that same list, or create one by typing a name that isn't there yet.

Can one prompt sit under more than one topic?

Yes. Each prompt carries one primary topic plus up to two secondary ones, three in total, and it counts under every one of them. That is why the prompt counts on this tab add up to more than the number of prompts you run. A prompt left without a topic is grouped as Untagged.

How is “you rank #2” decided?

By string matching, not by a model. Each answer is searched at word boundaries for your brand name, the spelling variants derived from it and the word in your domain, and the same pass runs for every tracked competitor. Your visibility on a topic is the share of that topic's answers that name you; your rank is your place in that list. It is the same matcher the rest of AI Visibility runs on.

What is the topic score, and who writes the chips?

One model pass per topic, reading the answers for that topic. It returns four to six value dimensions buyers weigh, marks each one a gap, aligned or a strength with the reasoning behind it, names the competitors the answers portray as stronger, and scores your authority on the topic out of 100. The eight topics with the most answers are analyzed. The rankings and the distribution never depend on it.

Why does a topic show no leader, or no percentage?

A topic appears only once its prompts have answers inside the date range; one with none is dropped from the tab rather than shown empty. Where nobody you track was named in any of the topic's answers the leader is a dash and your row reads “not yet ranked”, rather than crowning you first at zero percent.

Which plans include it, and does it cost extra?

Every plan. Plans differ by how many prompts you run and how many assistants those prompts reach, never by which tabs you get. Prompts are a pool shared across every site on the account, and there are no overage charges: you stop at your cap and decide whether to move up.
