Claude Visibility Tracker
for regulated firms.

Verand asks Claude the questions your buyers ask, once a week, every week, and records whether it named you, where in the answer, and which sites it cited instead of yours. Claude will often name a firm without linking to it, so named and cited are separate fields here and they frequently disagree. Five more assistants run the same prompt set alongside it. The content that moves those numbers is drafted from your own credentials and cannot publish until it clears the compliance gate.

One Claude answer, parsed. Mentioned, not cited, the four brands it named and the order it named them in, the five sources it used with none of them the firm's own, and the six sub-queries it searched to get there.

Definition

What is a Claude visibility tracker?

A Claude visibility tracker asks Claude a fixed set of questions on a schedule and records what came back: whether your brand was named, how early among the brands it named, whether your own site was cited, which competitors were named beside you, and how the answer described you. It is brand monitoring for a surface with no results page to check, so the tracker has to keep the answers themselves.

Verand asks Claude with web search on, every time, so the answer it reads is the one that carries sources, and stores each answer as one row whether or not you are in it. Two numbers roll the rows up, both counted from the answers rather than estimated. Each has its own page.

01Visibility RateHow it is measured

The share of your tracked prompts whose answers name you, with where in each answer your name appears. Measured, never estimated.

Set up once

Two things to configure. Four things back, every week.

Claude visibility tracking needs nothing installed on your site. You confirm the brand Claude should be looking for and the questions it should be asked, and every check then hands back the same four facts. Onboarding does most of it: the brand is read from your domain and the first prompt set is generated from your Brand Hub, so the first scan runs before you have typed anything.

Start tracking Claude

The first scan runs during onboarding, across all six assistants, before you reach the paywall. Your plan then sets how many stay on the dashboard; Claude sits in the top group, on Professional and above, because asking it costs materially more than asking the daily four.

Northgate Tax Advisory is an example CPA firm. The plans, cadences and prompt rules above are the shipped product's.

What comes back from every check
  1. Mentioned, or not. The answer either contains your brand or it does not. One boolean, stored either way, and the basis of every rate on this page.
  2. Position. First firm named and seventh firm named are not the same result, so the check records the order of your first mention among the brands in the answer.
  3. Cited, or not, and by which sources. Claude names firms in prose and links only what it retrieved, so this is a different question from the one above and often a different answer. Every link is resolved to a domain and labelled owned, competitor, editorial or user-generated.
  4. Every other brand named. Your tracked competitors are scored from the same response, so their standing costs nothing extra.

Those four are the chips and lists in the answer panel at the top of this page. Everything on the dashboard is arithmetic over them, plus one judged field, sentiment, run over the answers that named you.

Sourcing

How Claude finds, and how it sources.

Claude answers in one of two ways, and only one of them leaves a trail you can go and earn. It is the biggest single difference between tracking Claude and tracking a search-first assistant.

Two answer modes, one of which has no links

Ask Claude something it already knows and it answers from what it learned in training: fluent, confident, and with nothing to click. Ask it something current and it searches first, then writes with inline citations. Search is a deliberate step rather than a reflex, and it shows in the response: a grounded answer arrives as a short preamble saying it is going to search, then the substantive answer, and only that second part carries the annotations.

Verand asks Claude with web search on, every time, because the searched answer is the one that carries sources, and a source is the thing you can go and earn. What Claude says about you with search off is a different question, this page does not measure it, and no number here claims otherwise.

The index behind the search, stated carefully

Anthropic lists Brave Search as a web search subprocessor. It has not named a search partner in a product announcement, and a second web search subprocessor is listed alongside Brave, so this is what a subprocessor list says rather than a published partnership. Treat it as directional.

The practical consequence is worth acting on either way: Claude's search leg is not Google's index, so being crawled and ranked by Google does not on its own make you retrievable here. Anthropic's documentation names three crawlers, ClaudeBot for training data, Claude-User for the fetches a person's question triggers, and Claude-SearchBot for search. A robots.txt blocking all three takes you out of the surface this page measures.

Claude also reports the sub-queries it ran to answer a prompt. Verand keeps them: each one is a real question being asked around your topic, and each arrives as a row you can track on its own or turn into a brief.

Every answer

The answer is kept,
not summarised.

Every answer sits under the question that produced it, with how many of that question's answers named you. Expand one and there is a row for each assistant that ran, including the scans where nobody was named at all, Claude's among them: a miss is stored exactly like a hit, which is why the figure beside the question is a rate rather than a run of good days. The four daily assistants file a row every day; Claude and Perplexity join once a week, which is why the older scan here is six rows deep and the newer one is four. Open any row and the answer is there in full, with every source it used.

Every answer we got back

The raw answers behind your scores. Click any row to read one in full.

Claude rank tracker

A position in the answer,
not on a page.

A generated answer has no blue links to count, so there is no rank in the search sense. Verand reads the answer text, finds the first mention of every brand it tracks and numbers them in the order they appear. Named before anyone else and you are #1, scoring 1.0; each place below is worth 0.15 less, floored at 0.1. Average position is the mean across the answers that named you, so #1.5 says you usually open the answer or sit one name behind. Rivals are scored from the same responses, so a gap here is a real difference rather than two tools measured differently.

Sources

The pages it quotes
instead of yours.

Every source in every answer is kept and typed in code: yours, a tracked competitor's, one of twelve community platforms, or editorial by default. Remove your own domain and what is left is the citation gap, ranked by how often each source was quoted, each carrying the action that fits it. A competitor's guide says publish a stronger owned equivalent; an industry page says earn a mention. This is where a tracker stops being a dashboard: the gap becomes a brief, the draft comes back with your own experience facts woven through it, and it clears the compliance gate before anyone can publish it.

Weekly

Asked every Monday,
one point per scan.

Claude is asked weekly, alongside Perplexity, while ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's two AI answers are asked daily. The cadence belongs to the assistant, not to your plan: a Claude answer costs materially more to collect, which is why weekly is the normal setting for Claude across this category and why several platforms keep Claude tracking on their higher tiers. Each scan contributes one point, the share of that scan's answers that named you, plotted with your tracked rivals on the same axis. Filter any tab to Claude and the same arithmetic runs on Claude alone.

Rankings

Can you track rankings in Claude?

Not the way you track them on Google, and any Claude rank tracker showing you a stable position 3 is computing something it is not telling you about. A Google result is close to stable: two people searching the same phrase on the same day see broadly the same ten links, which is why rank tracking works at all. Claude is not built that way. The same question asked twice can return different firms in a different order, because the model samples its own output and because the pages it retrieves change underneath it.

The honest unit above that position is a rate. Every prompt is asked on the assistant's own cadence, one ask per prompt per scan, and the dashboard reports the share of answers that named you, the share that cited you, and how both moved. One answer is a reading. On a weekly assistant a month is four of them, which is worth knowing before reading a single week as a trend.

Why two Claude trackers can disagree about you. Usually one counts mentions and the other counts citations. Claude names firms in prose freely and links only what it retrieved, so a brand can be named in most answers and cited in almost none, and then scores well on one tool and badly on another. Verand stores and shows both, because the gap between them is the actionable part: mentions say Claude knows you, citations say a page of yours was worth quoting.

Where it is asked from. Google's two AI answers are checked from a location you set per site, down to city level. The Claude read is not: it carries no region, because a chat answer is the same from anywhere, so nothing here claims a city-level Claude result.

One more limit, stated plainly. An answer that comes back without you in it is a stored row with mentioned set to false, which is why the trend shows the scan where you dropped out. A failed ask is a third thing, kept with the provider's own error message. And one check legitimately records nothing at all: Google renders no AI Overview for some queries, and there is no brand to find in an answer that does not exist, so its check count runs below the prompt count on purpose. The number is also only as good as the questions behind it, which is why at most one prompt in five may name your brand.

Two assistants, two jobs

Why Claude and ChatGPT are not one number.

Both get asked the same prompt set here and both are scored by the same arithmetic. They are collected differently and they behave differently, which is why Verand keeps them as separate engines rather than blending them into one AI score.

Where they differClaudeChatGPT

Everything else is identical: the prompt set, the four recorded facts, the position scoring, the citation labelling and the compliance gate on anything you publish. One blended AI score would average the differences above into something nobody can act on. ChatGPT has its own page: the ChatGPT Visibility Tracker.

Regulated firms

Why Claude visibility is different for regulated firms.

Every tracker in this category measures whether you were named. For a firm with a licence, a regulator and a duty of care, two further questions matter more, and none of the Claude trackers we reviewed asks either.

When Claude gets your credentials, fees or services wrong

A wrong answer about a consumer brand is a lost sale. A wrong answer about a regulated firm is a claim you did not make, circulating under your name: a minimum investment you do not offer, a designation you do not hold, a fee you no longer charge. It is harder to trace in Claude than in a search result, because an answer written from training knowledge carries no link to argue with.

Verand extracts the checkable claims an assistant makes about you from the answers that named you, attributes each to the assistant that said it, and asks you to mark it correct or incorrect. An incorrect claim takes your correction, is watched until it stops appearing, and becomes a brand fact the generator writes from, so your own pages stop feeding the error. For a registered investment adviser that matters twice: the SEC Marketing Rule governs what your marketing may say, Verand's RIA compliance pack encodes it, and the page you publish to correct the record is checked against that rule before it can go live. Broker-dealer content answers to a different regime and is not in that pack.

The sources Claude trusts in your field

In a consumer category the sources an answer cites are often forums and reference sites, which Verand labels user-generated and editorial. In a regulated field they are mostly not yours: a bar association directory, a state licensing board, BrokerCheck, SEC.gov, review sites and the trade press. The answer at the top of this page is an ordinary example. Four firms named, five sources cited, two of them one competitor's and one an SEC.gov page, and the firm the answer named is not among them.

The listings you control, your bar profile, your board record, your firm's page on your regulator's site, are worth getting right: they are what the answer gets built from when your site is not.

Compliance packs are AI-researched and operator-reviewed, and are not legal advice. The gate blocks outright what a rule forbids, and asks a named person for a written, logged reason on the claims it cannot judge alone.

Improvement

How to rank in Claude.

There is no position to hold, so ranking in Claude means being named early and cited often across the questions that matter. The tracker tells you where to start. The work is pages.

01Reachability

Be readable to the crawlers that feed it

Anthropic names three: ClaudeBot for training, Claude-User for the fetches a person's question triggers, and Claude-SearchBot for search. Blanket-blocking all three in robots.txt removes you from the surface this page measures. And because Claude's search leg is not Google's index, being crawled and ranked by Google is not on its own evidence that you are retrievable here.

02Your own facts

Answer the question, with your own facts

Claude with search on rewards pages that answer the exact question a buyer asked and carry something the model cannot get elsewhere: your credentials, your real outcomes, your stated opinions. Verand drafts from your knowledge base for that reason, and the topics table shows which subjects Claude handles without you. This is the practical content of what the SEO trade calls GEO or AEO: answer-shaped pages, cited claims, an author it can identify. The name is new. The work is not.

03The trend

Then read the rate, not the scan

Publish through the compliance gate, then read the trend in months rather than weeks, because a weekly assistant gives you four points a month. Start from the citation gap: a citation is the thing you can go and earn, and mentions tend to follow the pages that earn citations rather than lead them.

The point of the number

Found is one leg. The other two are why it moves.

A tracker on its own tells you Claude named a competitor instead of you, and then stops. Moving the number means publishing a page worth citing, and other trackers write content too: one of the Claude trackers we reviewed gates its own drafts on a content-quality score, so a gate before publishing is not unusual. What none of them mentions anywhere is compliance review, and for a regulated firm that is the difference between a fix and a new problem.

Written. Every draft comes out of your knowledge base: your credentials, your real client outcomes and your strong opinions, in your own words. That is what gives an answer a reason to cite you rather than a directory.

Found. Daily Google rank tracking and six AI assistants read for mentions, citations, sentiment and share of voice, against the same pages, in one account. Google rank tracking and Claude tracking are different jobs, and this is one place both run.

Tracked and gated. Then the compliance gate runs before anything can publish: 46 deterministic checks and your industry's rulebook, hard failures that block outright, review-tier claims needing a written, logged reason from a named person, and nothing live until someone at your firm presses publish.

Doctors Investing in Real Estate: A Physician's Guide to Passive Multifamily

Physicians are the most common first-time limited partners we talk to. High income, no time, and a tax bill that grows every year make a passive stake in an apartment community attractive. It is also where the worst marketing in this industry is aimed, so this guide starts with what the numbers can and cannot promise.

Why syndications appeal to physicians

A syndication lets you own a share of a 100-plus-unit property without managing it. The sponsor finds the deal, raises the equity, runs the business plan and reports to you. Since 2019 we have sponsored over $150M of Class B and C value-add multifamily across Georgia and Texas on exactly that model, and we underwrite 100 or more deals to close one.

What a preferred return actually is

Preferred equity in a stabilized deal pays a guaranteed annual return of 8% before the sponsor takes a share of profits. The rest of the waterfall, the split above the preference, is where the sponsor is paid for performance, and it is the part a physician investor should read twice.

Where the tax advantages come from

Depreciation on the building passes through to limited partners on a K-1, which is why a year with positive cash flow can still show a paper loss. That is a timing benefit, not a permanent one: recapture applies when the property sells.

Images, citations, the sources list, and the compliance disclaimer are locked and preserved. Edit the prose freely, then Save to re-validate.

The gate, on a real draft. This article scores 96 and still cannot publish. One sentence promises a guaranteed annual return, which the YMYL pack blocks outright: a hard failure carries no override, so nobody at your firm and nobody at Verand can wave it through. The screen shows the only thing that can happen next. A person rewrites the sentence, the article re-validates, and the readout goes from Blocked to Pass.

The other five

One of six AI assistants Verand tracks.

Nothing on this page is specific to Claude except the favicon, how the answer is collected and the cadence. The same prompt set, the same four facts and the same arithmetic run against five more.

Claude
Weekly

Asked directly with web search on, because no consumer read exists. The most expensive read in the set, which is why cadence is set per assistant rather than sold as a plan tier.

ChatGPT
Daily

Read from the consumer product with web search on, so it is the answer a buyer gets. An empty read falls back to a second path automatically and still reports as ChatGPT. Its tracker page.

Gemini
Daily

Also read from the consumer product, on the same daily cadence as ChatGPT. Its tracker page.

Google AI Overviews
Daily

The block above the blue links. It does not render for every query, and Verand records absence as absence rather than as a zero. Its tracker page.

Google AI Mode
Daily

Google's conversational surface, and not the same thing as AI Overviews. It always returns an answer, so its check count tracks your prompt count. Its tracker page.

Perplexity
Weekly

Asked directly as well, on the same weekly cadence as Claude and for the same reason. Its tracker page.

Engine coverage is where the plans differ: Starter reads three, Growth five, Professional and above all six, and Claude is in the top group. Onboarding asks all six whatever plan you pick, so the report card you see before the paywall includes Claude either way.

Questions

What people ask before the first scan.

Eight answers, including the ones that are limits rather than features.

What is a Claude visibility tracker?

A tool that asks Claude a fixed set of buyer questions on a schedule and records the answers: whether your brand was named, where among the brands it named, whether your site was cited, which rivals appeared beside you and how you were described. Verand asks every prompt once a week with web search on, stores every answer including the misses, and rolls them into Visibility Rate and Share of Voice. The same prompt set runs against five more assistants.

Does Claude cite its sources?

When it has searched, yes: a grounded answer carries inline citations you can click. When it answers from training knowledge, there is nothing to click. That is why named and cited are separate fields on every row here, and why they often disagree: Claude names a firm in prose while linking only the pages it retrieved. Verand reads Claude with web search on, so the answer it stores is the one that carries sources.

How does Claude search the web?

As a deliberate step rather than a reflex. Claude decides whether a question needs current information, and when it does the response arrives as a short preamble saying it is going to search, then the substantive answer with its annotations attached. It also reports the sub-queries it ran, which Verand keeps as fan-out rows: each one is a question being asked around your topic, and each can be tracked on its own or turned into a brief.

What search engine does Claude use?

Anthropic lists Brave Search as a web search subprocessor. It has not named a search partner in a product announcement, and a second web search subprocessor is listed alongside Brave, so treat this as what a subprocessor list says rather than as a published partnership. The part that matters either way: Claude's search leg is not Google's index, so ranking on Google does not on its own make you retrievable here.

How often should you check your Claude visibility?

Weekly, and Verand does not make it a setting. Cadence is fixed per assistant by what a check costs: Claude and Perplexity are asked on Mondays, while ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode are asked every day. It is not a plan feature and not a toggle. You can run a scan by hand whenever you want a fresh read, and that asks every assistant your plan covers at once.

How is Claude visibility different from ChatGPT visibility?

Three things differ and the rest is identical. Claude is asked directly because no consumer read exists for it; ChatGPT is read from the consumer product. Claude runs weekly and ChatGPT daily, because a Claude answer costs materially more to collect. And Claude names firms in prose while linking only what it retrieved, so mentioned and cited disagree on its rows more often. The prompt set, the recorded facts and the arithmetic are the same, which is what makes them comparable.

How do you get cited by Claude?

Start with the sources list, because a citation is the thing you can go and earn: it says which domains Claude built its answers from, and the topics table says which of your subjects it handles without you. Check first that you are reachable, since Claude's search leg is not Google's index and blocking ClaudeBot, Claude-User and Claude-SearchBot removes you from it. Then write the page to answer the exact question, from your own credentials and outcomes, and publish it through the compliance gate.

Can you track competitors in Claude?

Yes, and it costs nothing extra, because every tracked rival is scored from the same answer you were: named or not, in what order, and cited or not. That is what makes Share of Voice a count rather than an estimate. The number of rivals is set per site by plan, from 5 on Starter to 40 on Agency, and they are the same competitors the rest of the account already watches.
