The keyword, the angle,
the terms, the evidence. Agreed before drafting.

A brief is the contract a draft is written against and graded by. Research fills it, you edit it, and the checks that grade the finished article measure it against these exact targets.

Editable, all of it

Every field is yours
before a word is drafted.

The working title, slug and meta description, the word target, the angle, the tone and drafting notes, the must-include and must-avoid points, the terms, the evidence, the links. Edits autosave. The target keyword is the one thing held fixed, because the research underneath it was built against that keyword.

What to cover

Specific points the article must make, sent to the generator
✓ Must include
What the LP actually owns: a limited partnership interest in the entity that owns the asset, not the building✎✕
The illiquidity risk stated plainly, with the lockup period, before any return figure appears✎✕
✕ Must avoid
Any projected or target return presented as what an investor will receive✎✕
Naming or characterising other sponsors negatively✎✕
The targets

Two checks stay dark
until a brief lights them.

Term coverage and evidence inclusion measure the draft against the brief’s own entities_to_cover and evidence_to_include. With no targets they return not-applicable and are left out of the score entirely, so an article written without research is never marked down for missing targets nobody set.

AI trims the over-used terms back toward the competitor band, then re-validates. You approve before anything changes.

After drafting

Required links woven.
Invented ones removed.

The drafter never sees the link list. Afterwards Verand strips any internal link pointing at a page that is not in your crawled content, weaves up to four of the brief’s real targets into sentences that already exist, and unwraps anything left in the first paragraph or aimed at the article’s own URL.

Before you spend the unit

Which rules apply,
read out in the brief.

Every pack on your site and every rule behind it, named in the brief: this one resolves to ten rules from four regulators. Then the disclaimer count that will be enforced, and a scan of the brief’s own angle and evidence text for banned phrasing. Context, not a verdict. The hard Pass or Blocked gate still runs on the finished draft.

How it works

Four steps, and the last one is the same numbers.

What the brief sets is what the finished draft is measured on. Nothing is restated by hand.

Questions

What people ask about the brief.

Where it lives, what you can change, and what happens when a draft misses.

Where does a brief live?

In Topic Research, as a card in your pool: Planned until research fills it, Ready after. Articles only ever holds generated articles, so an unwritten thing never has two homes. Open one with View brief.

Do I have to write one?

No. Research fills every field from the live results and the pages ranking for your keyword, and you edit what you disagree with. A brief with no research still generates; the two coverage checks just stay inert on that article.

Can I change the target keyword?

Not in the drawer. The research, the coverage terms, the evidence and the competitor set were all built against that keyword, so changing it would leave targets that measure the wrong article. Run research again on a new topic instead. Everything else is editable.

What happens if the draft misses a target?

You get a warning on the SEO or AI Search dial and a list of what is missing, with a one-click weave-in. Coverage and evidence are advisory by design. Compliance is the only thing that blocks a publish.

Does the brief decide the internal links?

It decides the candidates. After drafting, Verand removes any internal link the model invented for a page that does not exist, weaves up to four of the brief’s real targets into existing sentences, then unwraps anything left in the first paragraph or pointing at the article’s own URL.

What does the compliance pre-check actually check?

Which packs apply to your site, which regulators sit behind them, how many disclaimers will be enforced, and whether the brief’s own angle and evidence text already contain banned phrasing. It is context, not a verdict. The real Pass or Blocked runs on the finished draft.

Agree the article before it is written.

Research writes the first draft of the brief. You have the last word on it, and the checks hold the article to it.
